News Update - February 2011

It had been a busy run up towards Christmas and the New Year, but we are now in full swing of 2011. Many, many thanks to all who helped us raise further funds by buying the Bread of Life Kenya Christmas cards. They were a big success and we hope to be able to continue with this for next Christmas.

We would also like to thank everybody for the prayers and support you have given for this project. In particular Rose and all the family in Kenya have been extremely grateful for the focused support and prayers for Rose. Rose is much better now, her medication has been changed and she has improved a lot. Willis has said that it is a struggle to get her to take the medication, however, but maybe this is hopefully a sign that she is feeling stronger!!

Over this coming year we are looking towards a new building project on the Saints Christian Children’s Home site. It is an ambitious project, but our Lord will guide the way. We hope to be able to build new buildings on the extended site. We are looking to raise £5000 for this. Please pray for this project and for the funds to come in. But more importantly, that we all be led by God in what He wants to happen. We know He has it in hand.

The end of year exams that the children took went well. Most girls passed, and the majority of the girls did very well. A couple of the girls didn’t pass, but they are able to retake these. Overall the results are improving, which is fantastic news. This will hopefully give the girls a good platform for their futures.

Please pray for:

• Pray that Rose continues to get stronger.
• Remember Jeff and Matthew (Rose’s sons) as their Mum continues to recover.
• Pray for the all of the family and other staff as they continue to run the home and look after the children.
• Continue to pray for the girls at the home; for their development and education
• Please pray that in time, all the girls will be sponsored. We are still looking for a couple more sponsorships.
• Please pray that the new big building project will move in the direction God wants it to go in, and that funds will start to come through for this.
• Please pray for the retakes that a couple of the girls will need to do at school, that they will be able to do their best.

Fundraising:

Please keep a look out for a Ceiledh in the Spring, 2011. We are looking to do a fundraising event with a bit of a workout added in(!) – We will keep you posted, and it would be great if you could come along!!
